An introduction to movement for children turning 3 in the year they attend. The main focus is on enjoyment and creativity through movement, music and mime. The children will gain a love for dance and music. A parent must participate also.
Designed for children in Kindy, turning 4 or 5 in the year they attend. This class is designed to develop coordination, confidence and a sense of rhythm through movement, music and mime. The main focus is on enjoyment and creativity. The children will gain a love for dance and music.
For children who are in Prep at school in the year they attend. A gentle introduction into classical ballet technique. Focus is on rhythm and dance skills. As with Creative Dance there is still a large emphasis on creativity.
Jazz & Tap for Tots
A similar to Creative Dance, but with a focus on tap and jazz, rather than classical ballet. This class is for children turning 5 or 6 in the year they attend. Students will require both tap and jazz shoes.
Classes are taught in a free syllabus style where students are taught the latest steps to popular music. Suited to children from the age of 6 years through to late teens. Jazz is an upbeat modern dance style that promotes fitness, flexibility and a healthy self-esteem.
Our tap classes are a combination of open class work & the TAPATAK OZ syllabus, this is a new syllabus created by Christine Denny. Our tap classes are suited to children from the age 6 years and upwards.
This class involves the latest street dance movements to the latest music. This class is for students 6 years and up.
Broadway musical style song & dance. This class is open to students from 6 years & up.
Singing (Milton Studio only)
In singing classes, students are taught to develop a safe and correct vocal technique, along with elements of music including rhythm, pitch accuracy, musicality and aural skills. Singing classes are aimed at fostering a love of music from an early age and at building self-confidence and personal musical expression in each student. Classes offered from 6 years of age and upwards.
Classical Ballet (R.A.D.) (Pre-Primary - Advanced 2)
A carefully structured syllabus suitable for boys and girls which begins from when children are in Grade 1 at school. Students are taught the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) syllabus, which is a London based organisation, recognised and taught in over 70 countries around the world. Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace and can undertake optional examinations at the end of each grade. Ballet is a disciplined style of dance that develops a student's poise, strength, fitness, expression and coordination as well as promoting self-discipline and self-esteem.
Our Premier Dance performance groups. Company is a great opportunity for those who love to perform. These classes do require a high level of commitment from the dancers, as attendance at all normal lessons as well as company rehearsals are compulsory. The Company students perform at local school fetes and fundraising events. They also present a mid-year theatre performance.
Contemporary is a free style of dance where moves and choreography are drawn from modern styles of dance. This class is for students already enrolled in classical ballet from RAD Grade 3 and up.
Modern jazz style to popular music following the CSTD Jazz syllabus. This class is open to students who are already enrolled in RAD Grade 1 ballet upwards.
